C T Online Desk: Jan 19, 2022- A total of 989 people were detected
positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours after testing 3,192 samples in 13
Covid-19 laboratories in the district.
During the last 24 hours till this morning, the infection rate is 30.98
percent.
Mentionable, the number of infections on Tuesday was the highest during
the last five months in the district.
Health officials said the number of Covid-19 cases again speedily rose
to 107,446 as 989 more people were reported positive till Wednesday morning.
The total number of recovered patients from the deadly virus rose to
95,698 with curing of 59 more people in the past 24 hours.
Dr Ilias Chowdhury, civil surgeon of Chattogram district, said the
percentage of recovery rate is 89.07.
With one more new death recorded during the period, the death toll
reached 1,341 in the district.
A total of 894 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at
different designated hospitals here, the sources added.
