More rain in store for Bangladesh

C T Online Desk: Brace for more showers in the next 24 hours, as the weather department has predicted rainfalls ranging from light to moderate across Bangladesh.

“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Barisal divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country,” the weather office has said.

A mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi, Rangpur, Ishwardi, and Sayedpur and it may continue, according to the weather bulletin for the next 24 hours.

Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The axis of the monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh.

One of its associated troughs extends up to Northwest Bay. Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate elsewhere over the North Bay.
