C T Online Desk: A Chittagong Medical College (CMC) lecturer has been accused of sexually harassing a female doctor who practices in the same hospital.
The victim has identified the accused as Md Isa Chowdhury, a lecturer of the college’s Dental Unit.
Meanwhile, the victim is currently in the final stages of her MPhil in Microbiology at CMC.
On July 20, the doctor filed an official complaint with Chittagong Medical College Principal Dr Shahena Akter.
In her complaint, she said that she had been a patient under Dr Isa at his private chamber in port city’s Treatment Hospital since June 26.
She added that on July 7, the doctor sexually harassed her at his chamber when she went for a follow-up.
Dr Sahena Akhter said that following her complaint, a probe committee has been formed that has been tasked with submitting a report in five working days.
She said told Dhaka Tribune that action will be taken after the submission of the report.
However, she refused to reveal the names of the investigators for the sake of the investigation.
Dr Isha Chowdhury’s phone was found to be switched off despite several attempts from the correspondent to reach him.
