C T Online Desk: 2 large consignments of liquor leaving Chittagong port have been seized from Sonargaon, under Narayanganj district on Friday. On Friday in the early hours of the morning, these liquors were seized in a special operation.Two challans were released under declaration of machinery and bobbins by misusing the names of two companies of Comilla and Ishwardi EPZ by forging IP.
According to Chittagong Custom House sources, two containers full of liquor will be released from Chittagong port on the basis of secret information under the supervision of Commissioner and Joint Commissioner (Jetty) with the overall efforts of AIR Team, Unstaffing, Scanning and Gate Division of Custom House Chittagong and with the support of RAB and intelligence agencies throughout the night. In the end, two vehicles containing consignments leaving Chittagong Port were seized at Sonargaon, Narayanganj. Two challans were released under declaration of machinery and bobbins by misusing the names of two companies of Comilla and Ishwardi EPZ by forging IP. Inventory activities for two consignments are in progress. A huge amount of revenue has been evaded in these two shipments as they are high duty goods.
Saiful Haque, Deputy Commissioner of Custom House, told nedia that on July 20, in the name of Heshi Tiger Company Limited of Comilla EPZ, the bill of entry was submitted to the Custom House for clearing the shipment weighing 19,650 kg from China. On the same day, submitted a bill of entry for the release of the consignment weighing 20,750 kg in the name of BHK Textile Limited of Ishawardi EPZ, declaring the roving machine bobbin from China. As C&F was Zafar Ahmed of KB Dubash Lane, Double Mooring, Chittagong. Liquid liquor was found in two consignments, physical inventory undergoing sources said.,
