Last Thursday, the country’s major wholesale market of consumer goods, Khatunganj, Chaktai was submerged in tidal water. He said these things while visiting there.
The mayor said that we are miking, distributing leaflets and collecting fines from the Chittagong City Corporation to make people aware. Even people are not aware. House to house dustbins have been provided by the corporation. Some put rice in them, some put pulses. You have to be aware of the waterlogging. Garbage should not be thrown into the canal.
He said, flooding is a big problem in Chittagong. To solve this problem, work should be planned according to the master plan. Measures should be taken to save the occupied area of all the canals of the city. Urgent steps are needed to free Chittagong from flooding for national development. Because Chittagong is the major supplier of the national economy. Therefore, to prevent this flow of water, it will be possible to reduce the water in the city only if it can be speed up by returning the place of the canal to the canal and speeding up the excavation work.
