C T Online Desk: There is no cloud in the sky and experiencing bright sun.But the tide has risen in the low-lying areas of Khatunganj, Chaktai, Asadganj and Baklia, major wholesale markets of consumer goods.On Thursday (July 14) around 1:30 p.m., the tide began to rise.
As the water rises, water enters the low-lying warehouses, sheds and shops. There was knee-deep water on the road. Buyers and sellers suffer because of this. Earlier on Wednesday too, tidal water entered these areas.Jamal Hossain, organizing secretary of Khatunganj Trade Association, said that so much water has never risen in any tide before. People in low-lying areas are confined to their homes now.
