Rush of homebounds ahead of Eidul Azhar

C T Online Desk: Eid holiday is starting from Saturday. In the meantime, homebound people are leaving Chittagong.They are returning home a little earlier to buy the sacrificial cows. There was a crowd of passengers at Chittagong railway station from morning. Every train has an overflowing crowd. Railway authorities are in a strict position to ensure the safety of passengers and prevent black market.

Eleven trains left Chittagong Railway Station on Wednesday (July 7) morning. Also three more trains will leave.

Many people have suffered by sitting in the train seats under the pressure of extra people. However, so far no schedule has been disrupted.

Meanwhile, General Manager of Eastern Railway Jahangir Hossain and other concerned officials came to the railway station almost every day to make the Eid journey of homebound people safe and uninterrupted.

Passenger pressure on all routes has increased several times since Tuesday afternoon. As the situation in Corona is normal, more people are going to the village this year to share the joy of Eid with their loved ones.

In addition, there is a risk of overtaking, there is a tendency to overtake traffic on the highway. As a result, traffic jams were created at various places on the highway. So most of the passengers survived the train journey.

It is learned that Subarna Express at 8 am, Paharika Express at 6:20 am, Sagarika Express at 8:40 am, Chattala Express at 8:30 am, Vijay Express at 9 am, Karnafuli Express at 10 am, Mahanagar Express at 12:30 pm, Mahanagar at 12 noon. Mymensingh Express left at 3:30 pm, Sonar Bangla Express at 5:00 pm and Meghna Express at 5:15 pm. Besides, Udayan Express will leave at 9.15 pm, Dhaka Mail at 10.30 pm and Turna Nishita at 11 pm.

Chittagong Railway Station Master Zafar Alam told this correspondent   that the special train will leave from tomorrow on the occasion of Eid. 11 intercity trains will leave today till 11 pm., station master sources said.
