Ctg Port gets 2  new gantry cranes

C T Online Desk: Two new key gantry cranes (QGCs) were brought to the country’s major seaports for speedy container handling.  The ship carrying QGC from China crashed at the port’s NCT-5 jetty under special arrangements.

This will result in perfection in NCT QGC. The ship also has three more rubber tire gantry (RTG) cranes.
Port Secretary. Omar Farooq confirmed the ship’s arrival at the jetty with two key gantry cranes (QGC) and three rubber tire gantry (RTG) cranes. As per the rules, the ship was brought to NCT from the outer anchorage by 3 experienced pilots of the port, Captain Asif Ahmed, Captain Abu Saeed Md. Kamrul Alam and Nur Alam Siddiqui. The port’s own powerful tugboats Kandari 6, 8, 10 and 11 and Mooring boats NML-1 and Azmat assisted in berthing. At this time the port channel shipping was restricted.

This will speed up container handling at Chittagong port, he said, adding that two new QGCs and three RTGs made in China will go into operation as soon as possible after unloading, fitting and trial. Earlier, the operation was going on with QGC and RTG which were added to the port on May 8.
