C T Online Desk: Eid advance train ticket has become a distant dream as people are waiting for the same for hours in the third consecutive day on Sunday.
Bangladesh railway started selling tickets from July 1 for the people who would like to go to village home by train to celebrate the Eid-ul-Azha with near and dear ones.
Ticket seekers gathered at Kamlapur railway station in Dhaka since midnight though they were supposed to go there at morning.
Situation in and around railway station area remains almost unchanged as people are seen waiting in long queue seeking for tickets.
To reduce harassment of the ticket seekers and pressure on the railway officials, the concerned ministry introduced e-ticket system.
Aggrieved people said they cannot get e-ticket due to problem with server.
It is learnt that some ticket seekers waited for 30 hours to confirm their Eid journey by train.
Many students came to the station with books and notes and are studying there while waiting for ticket.
The railway department sold tickets for July 5 journey on July 1and July 6 journey on July 2. It is selling tickets for July 7 journey today (July 3).
Besides, tickets for July 8 journey will be sold on July 4 and July 9 journey ticket to be available on July 5.
