55% advance train tickets sold on 1st day in Ctg

C T Online Desk: Eid-ul-Azha holiday will start from July 9. Since the previous day was Friday, July 8, most of the people would rush to the village on Thursday (July 7), the day before the holiday. That is why it will be difficult to get a train ticket on July 7.

Many have taken time off from work to go home. As part of this, advance tickets for the July 5 train were issued yesterday. About 55 percent tickets were sold at Chittagong railway station till 5 pm on that day. Senior officials of the Eastern Railway inspected the ticket sales activities. From July 8 to July 9, two special trains will run daily on the Chandpur route. Additional bogies will be added to each train on the occasion of Eid, said Ratan Kumar Chowdhury, manager of Chittagong Railway Station. Tickets were given on July 5.

On the first day, the highest number of tickets were sold for the Mymensingh-bound Vijay Express train. Out of 652 tickets of this train, about 90 percent tickets have been sold. The day after tomorrow, i.e. the day of ticket sale on July 8, the pressure of the passengers may increase. Half of the scheduled tickets are being given at the counter and half online. ‘
