C T Online Desk: Cultural activists and Sacheton Nagorik Samaj and from all walks of life have formed a human chain at the corner of Cheragi hill in the city to protest the killing of teachers and humiliation of teachers. Human chains call for an end to communal barbarism and exemplary punishment for the perpetrators. The human chain was held on Wednesday (June 29) afternoon.
Utpal Kumar Sarkar, a college teacher in Ashulia, Savar, died on June 26 while undergoing treatment at the ICU. Famous poet-journalist Abul Momen, poet-translator Alam Khorshed, principal Dr. Anwara Alam, South District Awami League General Secretary Mofizur Rahman, Poet Kamrul Hasan Badal, Recitation Artist and Culture Organizer Rashed Hasan, Professor Sheila Dasgupta and others spoke during the human chain .
Poet-journalist Abul Momen said, on the one hand we see social, political, cultural decline and on the other hand we see communal picture. Teachers are important in society. People valued the teacher’s opinion.
