C T Online Desk: A Rohingya man was shot dead in a shootout between two groups at the Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar’s Ukhiya.
The incident was reported from Kutupalong’s Camp 2-west C-block around midnight on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Md Selim, Armed Police Battalion-18 chief Superintendent of Police Naimul Haque confirmed.
He said that two terrorist groups locked in a shootout were Selim was shot.
He was rushed to the nearby MFS Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
According to the APBN chief, Naimul is a member of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (Arsa).
However, locals said that Selim was a nightguard at the camp.
Ukhiya Police OC Sheikh Mohammad Ali said that the body has been sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Previously on June 9, another Rohingya leader, Md Azim Uddin, was shot dead in 18 no Balukhali camp in Ukhiya. Two more Rohingyas were injured during the incident.
