Factional tense in CUET campus, declared close till June 21

C T Online Desk: Chattogram  University of Engineering and Technology has been declared closed till 21 June next  in view of the tense situation  among  factions  of  students belonging to ruling party. Academic activities of  all academic  classes except post-graduate courses  and all Halls  will remain  closed  during the period . Male  students are instructed to leave the hall by 5 pm(tuesday) today  and the female  students by 10 am on Wednesday (June 15). All ongoing academic activities at the postgraduate level will continue as usual. The decision of closure was taken in the 124th emergency syndicate meeting held yesterday afternoon with Vice chancellor Prof.Dr. Rafiqul Alam  in the chair. Classes and hall will remain open from June 22 next, sources said. Tuesday (June 14) CUET registrar (additional responsibility) Professor. Farooq-uz-Zaman Chowdhury confirmed the matter to media . He said a meeting of all deans, institute directors, registrars, department heads, provosts and director of student welfare was held on Tuesday afternoon  under the chairmanship of CUET vice-chancellor. As per the decision of the meeting, from today (June 14) to June 21 , all the academic activities (including examinations) of the undergraduate level of the university and the residential halls have been declared closed.
