C T Online Desk: A social organization called Sachetan Tarun Projanmo has organized a human chain demanding construction of a separate burn hospital in Chittagong. The human chain and solidarity rally was held at Chittagong Press Club premises on Friday.
The main coordinator of the conscious young generation Mahmudur Rahman Shaon presided over the meeting while, the chief guest was the chairman of the Liberation War Research Center and civil movement leader Dr. Mahfuzur Rahman.
Speakers at the time said that the construction of a burn hospital in Chittagong has not been possible in the last decade and a half. The construction of this hospital is not possible due to lack of space, financial crisis and other excuses. At present a number of small and large scale industries have sprung up in the commercial capital. In addition, the population is growing at a significant rate. Besides, the number of fire accidents has increased many times in recent times.
The hospital is getting speed to provide treatment to the patient burnt in the fire. Often critical patients die on the way to Dhaka. In such a situation, I demand the construction of a specialized full burn hospital by immediately resolving all the complications for the fire treatment of the common people and industrial workers of Chittagong and adjoining districts.
