Budget reaction of CMCCI President : Budget  implementation possible  under  strong leadership of PM

C T Online Desk: President of the Chittagong Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Khalilur Rahman has said that it is possible to implement the budget announced by the Finance Minister under the strong leadership of the Prime Minister. He said that despite years of Covid epidemic, Russia-Ukraine war and volatile economic situation in the world, the challenges of inflation for 2022-23 FY 2022-23, the return to the continuity of the development of Covid is a well-thought-out, 6,084 million. He thanked the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister. Khalilur Rahman said that the target of Tk 360,000 crore given to the National Board of Revenue (NBR) for revenue collection is difficult but it can be achieved if proper implementation of 8/24 working hours announced by the Prime Minister and prevention of corruption in all areas is achieved. Stressing the importance of creating new taxpayers without increasing the tax burden on regular tax payers or institutions, the business leader said it was time to focus on tackling inflation and increasing domestic investment due to the Corona epidemic and the war in Ukraine.

Corona epidemic still exists in many countries of the world. Therefore, in this case, the allocation of 5 thousand crore rupees is timely. Needless to say, the launch of the Padma Bridge, the dream of the Prime Minister, will improve the living standards of the local people in the southern part of the country as well as create a revolutionary tide in the field of industry. Apart from that, I am calling for speedy implementation of other projects including Metrorail, Chittagong Bay Terminal, Karnafuli Tunnel, Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, Mirsarai Bangabandhu Industrial City and Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar Railway. We also need to ensure that budget allocations in different sectors are implemented in the right way and at the right time.
