C T Online Desk: Members of the naval police have seized 3,000 meters of yarn floating nets in the estuary of Halda river and Kachukhain area. Later, the nets were set on fire and destroyed on the verbal instructions of Raozan Upazila Fisheries Officer.
The operation was carried out on Tuesday (May 31) from 8 am to 10:30 am at various points in the estuary of Halda river and its vicinity.
Chittagong Naval Police Superintendent of Police Mohammad Mominul Islam Bhuiyan and officers and members of Sadarghat Naval Police Station were present at the time. During the operation, 3 long shaped yarn floating nets were recovered without any claim. The length of the recovered yarn mesh is about 3000 meters. Its market value is 1 lakh 35 thousand taka.
