Bakalia Access Road to be open  by  Dec

C T Online Desk: The new alignment of Bakalia Access Road has finally been approved. The project, which has been stalled for more than four years, has received final approval for the “controversial” 10-storey building.

The alternative road is being constructed keeping the building intact in the new alignment. The Bakalia Access Road, which has been blocked for 100 meters, will be reopened to traffic by next December. According to sources, a 1600 meter long Bakalia access road is being constructed from Chandanpura to Shah Amanat Bridge in the city. The road from Nawab Sirajuddaulah Road to Bakalia Thana (Bahaddarhat Shah Amanat Bridge Link Road) is being constructed with a width of 60 feet.

The road crosses the Chaktai Canal at Ayesha Khatun Lane (past the house of late Awami League leader Ataur Rahman Khan Kaiser) on the opposite side of Chandanpura Mosque on Sirajuddaula Road, crosses Chaktai Canal, bends north-west at DC Road, crosses Bagar Beel, passes Syedshah Road and passes Shah at Bakalia Police Station. The deposit bridge has been added to the connecting road.
