C T Online Desk: Demand for control of heavy traffic on Dewanhat-Alangkar road Locals have issued a memorandum to prevent accidents on the road from Dewanhat to Alangkar due to the movement of heavy vehicles including covered vans on the road. Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) West Division Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic)said . on behalf of the locals several social organisation demanded .
A memorandum was handed over to the Commissioner of Police through Tareq Ahmed. In the memorandum, the locals claimed that the road known as Dhaka Trunk Road is currently overcrowded.
As a result, millions of people from populated areas, schools-colleges, mosques-temples, factories and various commercial establishments are constantly facing accidents on both sides of the long road. Baitush Sharaf from Double Mooring Police Station on Dewanhat Overpass has been identified as more risky.
