C T Online Desk: A small hospital plant receives 500 liters of oxygen per minute from the air. If a corona patient needs 10 liters of oxygen per minute, it will be possible to give it to 50 people.
According to the demand of general patients, 3-6 liters can be given per minute. The plant has been started experimentally at Anderkilla General Hospital in the city.
According to sources, the plant is being set up in various hospitals across the country as a landmark decision taken by the government to address the dreaded oxygen crisis during the Corona period. The oxygen produced in this plant will be taken to the patient’s cabin or bed through the pipeline with the help of Central Oxygen of the hospital. Smaller oxygen plants are much more efficient for uninterrupted supply than the liquid oxygen supplied to the tank. Therefore, import of liquid oxygen, transportation cost will be saved and confidence in crisis will also increase.
Chittagong General Hospital Super (Deputy Director) said. “A small plant has been set up in our hospital to produce oxygen from the air,” said Sheikh Fazle Rabbi. The plant can deliver a maximum of 500 liters of oxygen per minute. On Monday (May 16) we received 200 liters of oxygen per minute from this plant. The experiment will run for a few more days.
