C T Online Desk: The mother fish did not lay eggs in full force in the Halda river due to the full moon and the absence of heavy rains and thunderstorms.
Halda experts believe that the mother fish will lay eggs only if it rains in a torrential downpour with lightning. Although the number of mother fish in the river has increased, it has not laid eggs yet. Hundreds of egg collectors are waiting for their eggs on boats and bamboo rafts on the Raozan and Hathazari sections of the Halda River.
The mother fish did not lay eggs in the Halda river till 4 pm on Sunday 15 May. Since last Friday, 6 to 7 eggs have fallen from the stomach of the mother fish in different points of the river and landed in the fishermen’s nets.
