C T Online Desk: A fire broke out in a container at Jetty Gate No. 4 of the port. The incident took place on Friday (May 13) at around 6:15 am.
Agrabad Fire Service Assistant Director Farooq Ahmed Sikder said two units of the Chittagong Port Fire Service tried to bring the fire under control after receiving reports of a fire in a container at the port. Later, 8 more units of the fire service joined in the fire fighting. Eight units brought the fire under control around 8:30 am in a two-hour effort. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage will be known subject to investigation, he said.
