C T Online Desk: Customs House officials found 120 tonnes of high-value dextrose monohydrate in a shipment of coated calcium carbonate from China. Attempts have been made to evade customs duty of Tk 42 lakh 13 thousand in this invoice. According to the details declared in this consignment, the duty tax was 6 lakh 82 thousand .
According to the product obtained in the physical examination, additional collection of 1 crore 30 lakh 17 thousand 625 taka has been made for customs tax and fine. According to Custom House sources, the consignment arrived at the port in 5 containers from China in the name of NB Trading House, an importer from Bangshal in Dhaka. A C&F agent named MN Enterprise in Agrabad, Chittagong, submitted a bill of entry to NBR’s Asaikuda World System on March 30 to unload the consignment. Basic Bank Limited has issued LC to import the consignment. The consignment was shipped from China on March 15.
