Bangladesh hands over large consignment of essential medicines to Sri Lanka

C T Online Desk:  Bangladesh has gifted a large consignment of drugs and other medical supplies to Sri Lanka which is facing a severe shortage of essential drugs amid an economic downturn.

The handing over ceremony was held at the State Guest House Padma in Dhaka on Thursday.

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, Health Minister Zahid Maleque, Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries (BAPI) president Nazmul Ahsan Papon, MP, Sri Lankan high commissioner to Bangladesh Professor Sudharshan Seneviratne, Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen, secretary to foreign affairs (East) Mashfi Binte Shams and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare were present at the event.

The supplies include total 56 types of lifesaving medicines.
