With the rise in temperature, load shedding is taking place more than once a day in most parts of the city. The meteorological office said the heatwave would continue for two more days. Yesterday saw in some areas of the city, people tired of the heat looking for shade. Rickshaw drivers do not want to pick up passengers despite having riders. The number of passengers in public transport was also comparatively less.
Chittagong Meteorological Office Forecasting Officer Zahirul Islam said the maximum temperature in Chittagong today was 33 degrees 6 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was 28 degrees Celsius, which is 4 degrees higher than normal. The average temperature so far was 31 degrees Celsius. The next two days may have similar temperatures.
