C T Online Desk: A container full of imported consignments overturned from a train at Saltgola crossing area of Bandar Police Station in the city. No one was injured.However, the freight train has suffered some damage.The accident took place around 4:30 pm on Friday (April 22).
According to the Railway (East Zone) Control Office, the train was heading towards Chittagong Goods Port Yard (CGPY) with containers loaded with goods from the port. The 15-slot train actually overturned slot number 11 in the Saltgola crossing area. The train was scheduled to leave CGPY for Kamalapur ICD in Dhaka at 8 pm.
Railway Divisional Transport Officer Ansar Ali told that rescue operations are underway to recover the train’s slots and containers.
