C T Online Desk: Shakhawat Sabbir | Special Correspondent : Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has adopted a dual approach—keeping dialogue channels open while pressing the government through joint political action. The party has urged the BNP to take responsibility for initiating talks among political parties and called on the government to play a “referee’s” role in ensuring national consensus.
Jamaat and its allies under the simultaneous movement have announced an eight-party rally at Dhaka’s Paltan intersection on November 11 at 2 PM, demanding full implementation of the July Charter, an executive order based on the Consensus Commission’s recommendations, and a national referendum before the next election.
Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher warned that the rally will mark a decisive phase if the demands remain unmet.
Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim said, “We believe in dialogue and consensus, but the movement will continue.”
A preparatory meeting chaired by Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar finalized the rally’s plans, with senior leaders and representatives from allied parties in attendance.
Party leaders said the rally aims to keep pressure on the government and emphasize reforms, justice, and elections — signaling that dialogue and demonstrations will move forward side by side.
