Colorful events at Ctg port on Bangabandhu’s birthday

C T Online Desk: Chittagong Port Authority has celebrated the 102nd birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day by organizing various programs throughout the day.

Rear Admiral M Shahjahan, chairman of the Chittagong Port Authority, members of the port and former member Hadi Hossain Babul laid a wreath at the portrait of the Father of the Nation and cut a cake with the children at the port building premises on Thursday (March 18).

Officers and employees of all levels including all the divisional heads of the port and President of Chittagong Port Employees Council, General Secretary, retired freedom fighters officers and employees were present.

A discussion meeting on colorful life and work of Bangabandhu was organized at Shaheed Fazlur Rahman Munshi Auditorium at 11:15 am under the theme ‘Promise of Bangabandhu’s Birth is the equal right of all children’. . Port Chairman Rear Admiral M Shahjahan was present as the chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners. Later, a documentary on the colorful life and deeds of Bangabandhu was screened.

On the occasion of the day, special prayers and supplications were organized in all the mosques, places of worship, temples and Buddhist monasteries under the port and blood donation program and quality food was served to the inpatients at the port hospital.

An internal cricket competition was organized among the children and teenagers at Chittagong Port Sports Complex at 4 pm. Member (Engineering) Captain Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman distributed prizes among the players.
