C T Online Desk: A new container yard of Chittagong port built at a cost of around Tk 160 crore will be launched on Sunday. State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury is scheduled to inaugurate the new terminal at Chittagong Port on Sunday. The yard has been constructed on 34 and a half acres of land next to the
old dock labor colony of Chittagong port. Named the New Mooring Container Yard, the yard can hold 16,000 TEUS containers. However, 4 thousand
containers can be kept in the ground of the yard. The yard has the capacity to hold 16,000 containers in fourlevels with four hights. The yard will play an important role in the overall operation of the port’s New MooringContainer Terminal (NCT) and Chittagong Container Terminal (CCT).
