C T Online Desk: National Disaster Preparedness Day-2022 has been celebrated in Chittagong under the direction of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief. On this occasion, besides the discussion meeting on Thursday, an exercise program on earthquake and fire was organized at the ground of Chittagong Govt Girls High School arranged by Fire Service and Civil Defense city.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Mominur Rahman inaugurated the exercise as the chief guest. The exercises show different techniques to survive earthquakes and fires. The theme of this year’s National Disaster Preparedness Day was ‘Success of Mujib Year, Mobility in Disaster Preparedness’.Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mominur Rahman said that the organization of rehearsals on earthquake and fire would increase awareness among the teachers and students of the school on disaster risk management. This exercise will play an important role in protecting oneself, family members and neighbors especially from earthquakes and fires.
