C T Online Desk: Prime Sheikh Hasina joined G20 leaders in paying tributes at the memorial of India’s Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat in New Delhi on Sunday.
In the morning, upon arriving at the memorial, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the G20 leaders and welcomed them with “angvastram” (stoles) while standing against the backdrop of an image of “Bapu Kuti.”
Besides Sheikh Hasina, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, IMF head Kristalina Georgieva, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong were among the first to reach Raj Ghat.
World leaders arrived one by one amid rain at Raj Ghat. A minute of silence was observed in memory of Mahatma Gandhi.
