Kotwali police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Zahidul Kabir told Dhaka Tribune that the followers of Sayedee had gathered to create violence. Thirty people from the Jamaat camp were arrested from the spot.
Meanwhile, according to local sources, on Tuesday, after 4pm, a procession of 400-500 people went from Jamiyatul Falah Masjid in front of Almas Cinema Hall when the police fired blanks at the procession, causing the procession to disperse.
According to police sources, after Sayedee’s death, security measures were strengthened at important places in the city based on secret information that Jamaat may carry out sabotage. Following this, a large number of policemen were deployed at the mosque in the city since morning.
