C T Online Desk: The newly elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Dhaka-17 Constituency Mohammad Ali Arafat paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday, the day after being elected.
Arafat along with his wife went to the Ganabhaban this afternoon and met the Prime Minister. Flowers were exchanged during the occasion.
Earlier on Monday, the by-election of Dhaka-17 constituency was held. The ruling Awami League nominated candidate Mohammad Ali Arafat has won. He was elected privately by getting 28 thousand 816 votes in the boat symbol.
His nearest rival independent candidate Ashraful Hossain Alam alias Hero Alom got 5 thousand 609 votes in Ektara symbol.
