C T Online Desk: CHATTOGRAM: Shipping Ministry awarded integrity award to Chattogram Port Authority (CPA) Chairman Rear Admiral M Sohail as a token of appreciation for his remarkable works in the 2022-2023 Fiscal Year.
State Minister for Shipping M Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury handed over the award to the port chairman at a ceremony at the ministry.
Shipping Secretary Mostafa Kamal, other officials of the ministry and heads of all the bodies under the ministry were also present at the programme.
Rear Admiral Sohail was serving as the chairman of Payra Port Authority before joining the CPA on May 2.
There he made huge contributions to the port’s channel dredging and other development works.
Chairman Sohail, an anti-submarine warfare specialist, was also rewarded with OSP and NUP from the Bangladesh Navy for his outstanding contributions.
He joined the Bangladesh Navy on January 1 in 1988.
During his tenure in the naval force, Sohail attended various training courses at home and abroad.
He also served as director of Legal and Media Wing at Rab Headquarters, Director Submarine at Navy Headquarters and at Counter Terrorism Intelligence Bureau and IAB at DGFI Headquarters.
