C T Online Desk: A shepherd named Sajib Hossain (25) along with 14 cows died due to lightning in Ishwardi upazila of Pabna on Tuesday.
The incident took place at Padmar Char of Kamalpur in Laxmikunda Union around 7 pm. Sajib is the son of Alhaj Pramanik of Kamalpur village.
Amjad Hossain, a resident of Kamalpur village, said that on Tuesday morning Sajib took 41 cows and went to feed grass in Kamalpur Padma pasture. On the way back home around 7pm it started to rain and gusty wind.
At that time Sajib died on the spot along with 14 cows due to lightning. After the rain, the locals rescued Sajib and took him to the Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor declared him dead.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ishwardi Police Station Arvind Sarkar told that Sajib died along with 14 cows due to lightning. His body has been handed over to his family members.
