International Nurses Day observed in Rangamati

C T Online Desk: May 12, 2023- International Nurses Day-2023 was observed in the district as elsewhere in the country and the globe.

On the occasion of the day, a colorful rally was brought out from the Zila Shilpakalas Academy premises of the district which paraded the important streets and ended coming at the Nursing Institute this morning.

International Nurses Day is observed on May 12 each year to honor the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. It serves as a reminder of the crucial role nurses play in the healthcare industry, highlighting their significance alongside doctors.

The day emphasizes the importance of showing equal respect to nurses worldwide and encourages people to express their gratitude towards these brave and hardworking professionals.

A discussion was held at the Rangamati Nursing Institute premises this morning.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Food Dipankar Talukder, MP, addressed the function as the chief guest this morning with deputy superintendent (service) of the Rangamati General Hospital senior nurse Dipti Rani Chowdhury in the chair.

Rangamati Hill District Council Chairman Angsui Pru Chowdhury, Rangamati Medical College Principal Dr. Preeti Prasoon Barua, Additional Deputy Commissioner SM Ferdous Islam and Rangamati General Hospital Resident Medical Officer Dr. Shaukat Akbar Khan, among others, were present.
