C T Online Desk: Two people were killed and eight others injured as two buses coming from opposite directions skidded off Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar highway and fell into a roadside paddy field in Chattogram’s Patiya upazila this morning.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Hamid, 32, and Shahida, 28.
The accident took place in Harinkhine area around 9:30am when the buses were trying to avoid a head-on collision, said Sudhangshu Bimol Roy, in-charge of Patiya Crossing Highway Police Station, quoting witnesses.
Locals rushed 10 people to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where two of them died of their injuries, said Nurul Alam, in-charge of the CMCH police outpost.
