C T Online Desk: Illegal water, electricity and gas disconnection activities are being resumed for the people living in the risky hills of the city. The concerned service agencies have been directed to identify the illegal connections in the hills and submit the list to the district administration by February 20.
He gave the instructions to the representatives of the service providers at a meeting of the committee formed to oversee the disconnection of water, electricity and gas from the hills of the city held at the office of Chittagong Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Mohammad Nazmul Ahsan on Thursday morning. The meeting directed the concerned agencies to identify the illegal connections from different hills of the city and submit them to the district administration by February 20. After receiving the list, all these disconnected and illegal settlements will start eviction activities.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Mohammad Nazmul Ahsan presided over the meeting. Chittagong WASA Deputy Assistant Engineer Bikash Chandra Nath and Md. Jahangir Alam, Mobasher M Hossain, Sub-Divisional Engineer, Power Development Board, Rafat Hasan, Deputy Manager, Karnafuli Gas Distribution Company Limited, Taufiqul Alam, Assistant Engineer, Power Development Board were present on the occasion.
