Besides, CPA board members, department heads, sub-department heads, heads of educational institutions, CBA leaders and students were present in the event.

In the discussion meeting, the chief guest Port  Chairman Rear Admiral M Shahjahan said that the speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on 7th March was not only a mouthful of words, but the suppressed voice of the beleaguered Bengali nation for thousands of years resonated together. This speech of Bangabandhu has given Bengali the direction of the path, the immeasurable motivation to go to war, keeping in mind spontaneous emotions and desired dreams. Hence the 7th March speech has a multi-dimensional significance and is a unique speech that propels the nation to the path of freedom. The sound of those tsars of freedom struggle “Jai Bangla” has been recognized as the national slogan of Bangladesh today. Chittagong Port has a historical heroic position at the institutional level in the 1971 War of Independence. During the nine-month-long liberation war, more than 200 officers-employees, including top officials of Chittagong port, took part in the liberation war and 100 workers-employees were martyred. Through Bangabandhu’s speech, traces of the human rights of the masses can be found. There is no substitute for collective efforts to deliver the benefits of freedom gained by the sacrifice of lakhs of martyrs to the doorsteps of the people. All the officers and employees working at the port are organized from their respective positions and the father of the nation’s privileged daughter Deshratna strengthens the hands of the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with her direction and to take the ranks of the developed world by the year 2041 and to build a smart Bangladesh by inspiring patriotism from every position.

Finally, the port chairman prayed for the forgiveness of all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the war of independence and the departed souls of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members on 15th August.

At the end of the discussion meeting, Chairman distributed prizes among the winners of various competitions held with the students of various educational institutions. After that, photographs on Bangabandhu’s life and work were shown.
