C T Online Desk: Bangladesh Hindu Bhudda Christian Oikya Parishad, Chattogram unit organised a torch procession infront of Chattogram Press club premises demading the implementation of the ruling party manifesto of 2018 .
Bangladesh Awami League’s Manifesto released election manifesto on the occasion of the National Assembly Election (2018) . The procession brought out demanding the formulation of the Minority Protection Act, the formation of the National Minorities Commission, the proper implementation of the Hilltracts Peace Agreement, the implementation of the Transfer of Vested Property Act, and the formulation of the Law on the Protection of Devottar Property.
The procession started from Andarkilla square and went around Chittagong Press Club square shouting various slogans and ended at Cheragi Pahar intersection.
Before the procession, a short meeting was held under the chairmanship of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Oikya Parishad Central Presidium Member and Chittagong Metropolitan unit President Engineer Parimal Kanti Chowdhury.
At that time, the leaders said that 4 years of the current government have passed, the National Parliament election will be held at the beginning of next year. All the promises made by the government party in the election manifesto announced before the last national parliament elections have not been implemented even today. This has created discontent among religious ethnic minorities. The government party’s 2018 election manifesto must be implemented before the upcoming national parliament elections.On condlusion of the procession, a brief street meeting was arranged at Cheragi Pahar square duly spoke by the leaders of the Oikya Parishad, sources said.
