C T Online Desk: Five people were killed as a sand-laden bulkhead collided head-on with a trawler in the Dakatia river at Mominpur area in Chandpur Sadar upazila early Monday.
The deceased were identified as Md Awal, 50, Md Mobarak, 45, Md Nasir, 32, Al Amin, 35 and Nazrul, 35.
Shahidul Islam, Chandpur Fire Service and Civil Defence, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Eleven people went missing after the incident took place due to dense fog at around 6am. Later, six people managed to swim ashore and the bodies of five were recovered.
