C T Online Desk: The 50-bed hospital on the CRB railway is being rebuilt in Chittagong due to the rapid spread of corona infection. The Chittagong Health Department has written to the Railway Hospital authorities to keep the hospital ready to handle the emergency situation.
According to the Railway Hospital and the Health Department, if any Covid patient is caught at the airport, their railway will be kept in this hospital. Moreover, if the number of Covid patients increases, they may also be kept there.
According to the doctors in charge of the railway hospital, the 50-bed hospital is now well prepared. There are also 6 doctors here. There are also cleaners, nurses, ward attendants. According to Railway Hospital sources, the Chittagong Civil Surgeon prepared a part of the Railway Hospital for Corona patients in May 2020 due to the increase in Corona infection.
In that year 190 patients were admitted in this hospital. Later, when the second wave of Corona started in early 2021, it was again prepared as a specialized hospital of Corona. Especially the expatriates from abroad were in isolation in this railway hospital. They would return home after the report came back negative after testing the corona sample.
