Mobile courts to curb Covid: What do you need to do?

C T Online Desk: Mobile courts led by executive magistrates are now operating in Dhaka and other districts to ensure people comply with the guidelines announced by the government to curb the spread of Covid-19 and its new variant Omicron.

The 11-point directives by the Cabinet Division, that came into effect from Thursday, include wearing masks in all public places, including shopping malls, markets, hotels, and restaurants and also outdoors.

Mobile courts have been deployed in the field so that people maintain health guidelines. Failure to do so will result in fines and other punishments as per law. If you are someone who has to go out regularly, then you must follow these rules to ensure your safety and avoid any punitive action.

Wear masks

No matter which variant of Covid-19 is on the rise, “wearing masks” has proved to be an essential health etiquette. As the Covid situation got better, people started being neglectful towards masks, which have now been declared mandatory outdoors, especially in shopping malls, bazaars, and hospitals.

Along with masks, keeping other protective toiletries and gear such as hand sanitizers, gloves and disinfectants handy always helps.

Keep vaccine certificate with you at all times

According to the new directive, citizens cannot eat out at restaurants and stay in residential hotels without providing Covid vaccine certificates. The restrictions are likely to increase in the future. Vaccinated citizens were provided with “vaccine certificates” through the Surokkha app after getting two doses of vaccines. It will be handy to keep a soft copy on the phone if a hard copy seems like too much trouble.

Vaccinate school students

Students aged 12 years and above will not be allowed to enter their educational institutions without the vaccine certificates after the date fixed by the education ministry. Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni is positive about keeping the schools open but unvaccinated students run the risk of spreading and contracting the disease.
