C T Online Desk: It has been two years since the government prepared the DPP (Draft Project Profile) for the construction of 100 Technical Training Centers (TTCs ) across the country.
Among them, there will be 4 Technical Training Centers (TTCs) in Chittagong. According to sources, the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment has set up 40 TTCs across the country. These are currently awaiting inauguration. Then in the second phase, the government took initiative to build 100 more TTCs in 2020. Of these, 4 more Technical Training Centers (TTCs) will be set up in Chittagong.
The Ministry of Planning and the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment are working together to further modernize them. DPP is being made. The government has taken this decision for the employment of skilled manpower at home and abroad. These TTCs will be set up under the Manpower Employment and Training Bureau under the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment.
But within two years of the initiative, the concerned ministry has not been able to start work at the field level yet.
According to sources, in the first phase, 40 technical training centers (TTCs) were constructed across the country, two in Chittagong, one each in Raozan and Sadwip upazilas. The government undertook this project to survive in the export of manpower in the international market and to create quality manpower in the country. Then in the second phase 4 more TTCs will be constructed in Chittagong’s Hathazari, Fatikchhari, Mirsarai and Patiya.
