C T Online Desk: The court dismissed the case seeking return of land acquired for the Chittagong WASA sewerage project.Chittagong Third Joint District Judge Nusrat Jahan passed the order on Tuesday. As a result of this order, there was no obstacle in the work of the project worth Tk 3,808,58,77 , said the WASA lawyer.
On the other hand, the plaintiffs have said that they will appeal against the order in the high court. WASA lawyer Zia Habib Ahsan said the same court had imposed an interim ban on the project after Syed Muhammad Enamul Haque Muniri, chairman of the non-acquired Halishahar Agricultural Land Recovery Struggle Committee, filed a case on April 8.
It was later withdrawn at the request of WASA. Advocate Zia Habib Ahsan said, “I applied for dismissal of the case on behalf of CWASA. The plaintiff then submitted their written objection on June 16. A two-way hearing was held yesterday. The court ordered their case to be dismissed. Following the court order, there is no longer any obstacle in the work of the project., CWASA sources said.
