C T Online Desk: Mr. Md. Rashedul Islam (Rashed Parvez), Public Relations Officer of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) has been promoted as ‘Assistant Director (Public Relations)’. Today 26th of June (Monday), 2022 in the afternoon he joined as Assistant Director. Mr. Mohammad Fazlur Rahman, Deputy Director (Public Relations) of CUET welcomed him with best wishes. Noted that, last 26th June 2022 he was promoted on the recommendation of the 125th syndicate meeting of CUET. He was the public relations officer of CUET on March 30, 2017. Earlier, before joining CUET, Rashed Parvez worked as a Staff Reporter for the Daily Azadi for three years (2014-2017).
Md. Rashedul Islam completed B.S.S (Hon’s) and M.S.S (Masters) degree from the Department of Communication and Journalism, University of Chittagong respectively in 2013 and 2014 with the first class. It is mentioned that he was awarded for the “Oxfam Fellowship-2015” by the UK based international voluntary organization Oxfam and the local media research organization Samashti in Dhaka on 24 December 2015 for his report on the contribution of women farmers in food security in Bangladesh. He was also awarded “Best Reporter” by Watchdog Bangladesh and Bangladesh Poultry Industry Coordination Committee on August 20, 2016 for his report on the problems and prospects of the poultry industry in Chittagong. He also received professional training from various local and foreign organizations, including media training from Deutsche Welle (DW) academie, Germany. He was born on 1st January 1993 in an aristocratic Muslim family in Shair Mohammad Para, Islampur Union, Rangunia Upazila, Chittagong. His father’s name was Abdul Gafur and his mother’s name was Monowara Begum. He is the youngest child of a family of four older sisters.
