C T Online Desk: There are many complaints about WASA water. On March 6, the High Court ordered the formation of a four-member committee to examine the waters of Chittagong WASA.
The committee was asked to test the water and submit a report within a month. In the light of that application, tests are being carried out in 3 labs with samples of 24 points to see if there is any problem in WASA water. This sample collection has started from 13th June. So far most of the point samples have been collected.
The sample water is being tested in the labs of the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Biology, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh Council of Science and Industry Research (BCSIR) and the Department of Environment. . The committee is headed by Ashraf Uddin, Professor of Microbiology, University of Chittagong. Md. Zobaidul Alam, BCSIR representative Dipankar Chakraborty and the representative of the Department of Environment Kamrul Hasan.
