C T Online Desk: A cheque of Tk 5.6 crore has been handed over to the family members of 69 victims of the fire at BM Depot. Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mominur Rahman handed over the cheque to the concerned with the help of BM Depot authorities. The cheque was handed over at 12 noon on Monday at the Chittagong Circuit House auditorium. Meanwhile, the families of the fire service personnel killed in the fire at the BM container depot in Sitakundu have been given Tk. 15 lakh each. At the same time, the families of the slain workers and drivers were given Tk 10 lakh, the families of the missing persons were given Tk 6 lakh and the general injured were given Tk 4 lakh. Besides, those who recovered after first aid were given Tk 2 lakh. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) said at a ceremony held on the occasion before the distribution of cheques. Mominur Rahman said that the BM Depot authorities have kept all the promises they have made so far in this accident. They are already fulfilling the promise of cooperation to the families of the victims. I hope that in the future also the injured people who are being treated in the hospital, will find out about them. Those who do not have a working person in the family, will arrange for the future maintenance of the family. At that time, the families of 10 killed and 3 missing persons of Fire Service and Civil Defense were given 15 lakh takas, 9 seriously injured people were given 10 lakh , 5 general injured people were given 6 lakh rupees and 3 persons receiving first aid were given 2 lakh takas./.
