C T Online Desk: The district administration has started an eviction drive against illegal and risky people living in the hills. On Sunday (June 19) at around 10:30 am, an operation was carried out by the RAB, police and Ansar under the leadership of the executive magistrate of the district administration to evict the people living in the risky hills in the lake area No. 1 of East Ferozeshah.
It is learned that the operation is being carried out under the leadership of Senior Executive Magistrate Touhidul Islam of Chittagong District Administration, Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Kattali Circle Umar Farooq, Assistant Commissioner of Chandgaon Circle Masud Rana and Executive Magistrate Al Amin Sarkar.
On behalf of Chittagong City Corporation, Judicial Magistrate Manisha Mahajan has been assisted by Muhammad Abul Hashem, Private Secretary to the Mayor.
Fifty male and 20 female members of the Metropolitan Police have joined the operation. Two RAB teams, a team from the Narcotics Control Department, local councilors and Ansar members are cooperating in the operation.
Touhidul Islam, senior executive magistrate of Chittagong district administration, said the eviction drive was being carried out by RAB, police and Ansar under the leadership of three executive magistrates of the district administration. By 12 noon we had evicted several houses.
