C T Online Desk: The Rapid Action Battalion on Saturday informed that they arrested a man who had impersonated himself as a doctor and had been giving treatment by opening a chamber at Bahaddarhat area in Chattogram.
The arrested man is Sanjoy Kumar Nath, 48, son of Jaharlal Nath of Chikondandi area under Hathazari upazila in Chattogram, said RAB-7 assistant director (media) Md Nurul Abcher. He had been providing treatment claiming himself to be a doctor who passed MBBS.
The RAB members in a drive arrested Sanjoy Kumar Nath on Friday night from Bahaddathat area, he said.
‘Sanjoy Kumar Nath impersonated himself as a MBBS doctor and was giving treatment to people at Bahaddarhat area after opening a chamber named Modern Diagnostic Centre,’ the RAB officer said.
‘The man had been cheating people for the last 16 years. He was warned by the Rangunia upazila nirbahi officer earlier for the same wrongdoing,’ he said.
A case was filed against the man and he was handed over to Chandgoan police, the RAB official added.
