C T Online Desk : The bodies of 46 people were recovered from the BM container depot in Sitakunda in a horrific fire and explosion, but 19 were unidentified. A team from the forensic lab of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police has completed the collection of DNA samples of the relatives to identify the deceased.
CID has taken DNA samples from 42 people to identify the bodies of 23 people, including 19 bodies and 23 missing persons. The bodies will be handed over to the family once the identification of the DNA test is done. Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Kattali Circle Omar Farooq told the media that no body would be handed over till it is identified. According to Chittagong District Police sources, at present 15 bodies have been kept in mortuary at Chittagong Medical College Hospital, 2 at Chittagong Evercare Hospital mortuary and 2 at Chittagong Combined Military Hospital (CMH) mortuary.
